The Fredonian Rebellion, which occurred in 1826-1827 in Texas, was primarily driven by dissatisfaction among Anglo settlers with the Mexican government. The settlers, led by Haden Edwards, declared independence from Mexico, viewing the government's actions as oppressive. The rebellion, however, was short-lived and ultimately suppressed by Mexican forces.
