While I do not have the choices that would really be useful in answering this question, I can assure you that the US Navy did not hand out candy to kids who say "Trick or Treat", which seems to be an important part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Which golf war? 1. Iran-Iraq War of 1980-1988 2. Operation Desert Storm that lasted from January of 1991 thru parts of February of the same year...1991. 3. Operation Iraqi Freedom which started in 2003...
The US Navy monitored the Persian Gulf during the Iran-Iraq War 1980-1988. The only casualties was when an Iraqi missile struck the USS Stark (Frigate) killing over 30 US Sailors, and nearly sinking the ship.
Approximately 30 US Sailors were killed when an Iraqi aircraft launched a missile that struck the US Navy warship USS Stark, while it was patrolling the Persian Gulf, during the Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988).
Primarily the US Navy was deployed to the Persian Gulf during the Iran-Iraq War of 1988. The USS Stark was struck by one Iraqi missile causing the only known (heavy) US casualities of the war.
Political factors were important in all three wars (Iran-Iraq War 1980-1988; Operation Desert Storm Jan/Feb '91; and Operation Iraqi Freedom 2003-). Definition of war: The obtaining of a political goal, by other than political means. ____________________________________________ 1) The Iran-Iraq War was not a "gulf war" although the Persian Gulf was an area of conflict for part of it, and a US Navy warship was attacked there. The war was fought entirely between Iran and Iraq, with no other countries in the world siding officially with either. It lasted for eight years with no victor, was mostly fought on the Iran-Iraq border, and fought entirely between Iranian and Iraqi forces. Iraqi dictator Sadaam Hussein started the war. 2) The Gulf War, also called the Persian Gulf War, fought from 1990-91. Iraq invaded Kuwait, prompting many other oil-producing and oil-consuming nations to join an international coalition to expel Iraq from Kuwait. Sadaam Hussein started this war too, which included both Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. 3) Sadaam Hussein did not start this one, and nothing he could have done would have prevented a US invasion of Iraq to secure land between the Caspian oil reserves and the Indian Ocean. After eleven years of non-participation in the Afghan Civil War, a war that the US caused, US forces were finally committed to Afghanistan. This war is known by the inspiring names of Operation Iraqi Freedom and the War on Terror.

The Iraqi Government did NOT send out it's Iraqi Navy Torpedo Boats to attack US Navy warships on the high seas. The North Vietnamese Navy DID attack US Navy warships upon the high seas. No comparison.
