Yes and no. First, one of them was either 11 or 12. Second, the two girls were believed to be bewitched. Now, we know that they were not bewitched and we do not know the cause. Either they were faking or a physical or mental illness that caused then to have symptoms like what Puritans considered witchcraft and hallucinate they saw witches tormenting them.
I wouldn't say that they were discovered so much as falsely accused. Witches are mythical (at least in the sense that you mean).most were discovered by towns people wrongfully accusing people because they did not like them but some tryed to prove a point that witches were not devil worshiper but they just ended up being killed
The Salem Witch Trials happened in 1692. That's when a bunch of dumb girls started accusing so many innocent people of being witches. You should research more on this topic. Or read The Crucible by Arthur Miller.
Everyone in those times was highly religious, so they persecuted people who studied the occult. Not everyone that was persecuted was guilty. After the first people started the accusing, other people accused each other to remain "safe" from persecution. A great book that is related to this question is the Crucible. It's actually a play, but can be read like a book.
That's not really a question, but it was obviously in 1690, and The story started off with lady's dancing in the forest, and then people believing they are witches, and then they go and start accusing people that who they have a grudge against, such as Abagail Williams, accused John Proctor's wife that she was a witch so that she could have the chance to have another affair with John Proctor. Than the hole town is scared of being a witch and the only way to get out of the accusations was to accuse other people of being a witch or admitting it. Hope this helped.
accusing democrats of corruption
they where basically people accusing other people of being witches

Because one of witches done something to one of the people so that's when they started hating witches
