I don't believe the twelfth amendment supports the idea any more than the other amendments. The idea of a living constitution is the belief that the constitution must change and evolve as our country does and all the amendments are support of that idea because amendments are change. It also comes from the notion that the constitution is purposely broad so as to leave it open for interpretation and change.
No particular document explains the decline of the Roman Empire. Historians have elaborated this notion from the writings of several Roman and Greek authors. Some historians even challenge this notion of a decline of this empire.
In these lines, King addresses the counterclaim that African Americans will eventually receive equal rights to highlight the urgency of the civil rights struggle and to challenge the complacency surrounding the issue. By confronting this notion, he emphasizes that waiting for justice is not an option and that the ongoing oppression requires immediate action. This approach strengthens his argument for civil disobedience and the necessity of direct action, reinforcing that true equality cannot be postponed. Ultimately, it serves to mobilize support for the movement and to underscore the moral imperative of fighting for justice now.

The word notion has two syllables. (no-tion)
Kill Your Timid Notion was created in 2003.
The word notion is a noun, so there really aren't any antonyms for it. Notion basically means 'idea'. What is the opposite of an idea?
I would contest the statement that any scientific theory is more or less acceptable to religious denominations. To somebody who believes that the universe was created, the notion that it was created as an eternal unchanging whole should be equally palatable to the notion that it was created as an expanding space. Perhaps, though, the notion that we now had a specific first event to point to provided somewhat of an emotional support to their beliefs.
