Why has anti-semitism persisted?

As a general rule people who hate a particular race, religion or creed do so because of fear or ignorance. It is also encouraged by people with an agenda against that group, using propaganda, half truths and lies. Hatred also underlies much violence in the world. If people stopped exerting so much energy toward hating people who are different, they might just have the energy to rebuild this world to be a happier place. The reasons for Jewish hatred have remained unabated. To see some of these reasons, check out the Related Question: Why do people hate the Jews?

Who wrote about Alexander the great?

It is not clear when the book of Deeds of Alexander was published. But secondary authors do not quote it to describe the events after 329, and it is possible that Callisthenes considered the death of Bessus, the last leader of the Persians, to be a fitting climax of his history. The book of Deeds of Alexander is now lost, but underlies much of what was written later. - There are many ancient sources on the career of the Macedonian conqueror Alexander the Great: the Library of world history of Diodorus of Sicily, Quintus Curtius Rufus' History of Alexander the Great of Macedonia, a Life of Alexander by Plutarch of Chaeronea and the Anabasis by Arrian of Nicomedia are the best-known. All these authors lived more than three centuries after the events they described, but they used older, nearly contemporary sources, that are now lost.

What is casca's reaction to Caesar's refusal?

Casca tells Brutus and Cassius about the show at the Lupercal, where Mark Antony offered a crown to Caesar three times. Each time Caesar pushed it aside as if to refuse the honour of being king, but to Casca it seemed that each time he did so, he did so a little more reluctantly. Casca was almost certainly wrong about that. This whole episode was a piece of political theatre, designed to fool the masses into thinking that Caesar did not want the powers of a king when in fact he had already assumed the powers of supreme dictator for life. Caesar knew, and Shakespeare knew, that the masses will go for the superficial and showy and cannot be bothered to examine the more complicated reality that underlies it. Thus Caesar will refuse a crown, the superficial symbol of kingship (the masses go "yay!") but accept greater power than any king ever had (the masses go "huh?"). Casca doesn't get this; he thinks that this is a spontaneous gesture by Antony to which Caesar will spontaneously react. This does not sound like the kind of thing Antony or Caesar would do. They'd have it planned out. Casca knows about Caesar's ambition, and reads that into what he saw.

What events do the iliad and odyssey tell about?

Although the stories are supposed to tell of events in the 12th Century BCE, they were eventually written down, after cursive writing was developed, in the 8th Century BCE and generally reflect the political and social conditions of that latter era, which underlies the superficial 'kings' of an earlier era. The farmers who owned and tilled the land employed a 'hero' warrior to organise and lead defence against predatory nomads, pirates and neighbours. The 'hero' lived in princely style on the high defensible ground, and there the people could take refuge in time of threat. As employer, however, their council directed the activity of the 'hero'. Outside these farming communities in the mainland and islands were the pirates, a quite respectable profession, and necessary when you look at the barren, rocky islands they lived on. Indeed the story of the attack on Troy is that of a great 10 year pirate raid by early Greeks - the Achaeans - on the coast and islands of Asia Minor, which they looted for ten years culminating with the rich prize of the trading city of Troy in the tenth year. The nomads, which the Greeks themselves had been when they moved in, in successive waves, and took over Greece from the Mycenaean inhabitants after the time of the reputed Trojan War (12th Century BCE), had become settled on the land by the time Homer wrote the Iliad and Odyssey in the late 8th Century BCE. And being prolific breeders, the limited arable land could not support their expanding populations, so they established colonies all around the Mediterranean in Southern Europe, North Africa and Western Asia to support them, which explains the spread of the Greek world. It was a world of subsistence farmers who were also fighters to defend their land and take the land of others. They lived a precarious life on their tiny farms, fought to protect or plunder, and progressively began developing and borrowing a civilisation which came to lead the world in building, the arts, science, trade, government, warfare and callous butchery.

What are famous quotes from President Wilson during World War 1?

One famous quote from President Woodrow Wilson during World War I is, "The world must be made safe for democracy." This phrase was used to justify America's entry into the war. Another notable quote is, "The right is more precious than peace." Wilson believed that defending democracy and human rights was more important than maintaining peace at any cost.

The technology that underlies primary memory is most similar to the technology that underlies what?

The technology that underlies primary memory, such as RAM, is most similar to the technology that underlies cache memory. Both utilize semiconductor technology and serve as fast-access storage solutions that temporarily hold data for quick retrieval by the CPU. Additionally, they rely on similar principles of data storage and access speeds, which are critical for efficient computing performance.
