The first issue is how you define East Asia but regardless of that definition then the answer has to be no. Population density across continents, sub-continents and indeed most countries is rarely evenly spread. Singapore for example is the 3rd most densely populated nation in the world - over 7,000 people per square kilometre. Macau and Hong Kong are also in the top four but are technically not nations in their own right but rather "Special Administrative Regions" of China. Contrast that however with Laos a relatively close neighbour of Singapore but Laos has by contrast, an average of less that 27 people per square kilometre making it the 53rd least densely populated nation on Earth. Similarly Cambodia and Myanmar both have less than 100 people per square kilometre whereas South Korea is the 22nd most densely populated on the planet with almost 500 people per square kilometre. So population density is definitey not evenly spread across Asia, East or otherwise. In no part of the world is population spread evenly; think of cities, think of the countryside, think of deserts.
