What trends or changes have occurred in cleaning?

Well, for one the implements used now are more lightweight and easier to manuever then in days gone by. Back them the caustic chemicals used were definitely not user safe, alot of the cleaners had lye in them. Alot of the implements now are made for quickness of use and disposability. The varieties of cleaners now are huge, years ago, vinegar and Clorox were it, now they have a cleaner for every type of stain or spill and alot of them are concentrated for extended shelf life and amount of use. One thing that hasn't changed is that there are other things women would prefer to be doing, whether then or now. I do however, love a clean home and use an adage that my home economics teacher taught me, clean as you go along and the mess will not be as tedious, this is with laundry, dishes, cooking, etc.
