Haile Selassie never made such a speech other than to deny his supposed divinity repeatedly.
Haile Selassie was the Regent of Ethiopia (1916-1930) and the Emperor from 1930-1974. He died in 1975.He was born as Tafari Makkonnen in 1892, but adopted the name of Haile Selassie (which means "Power of Trinity").He is revered in the name of Rastafari by the Jamaican Rastafarian movement as a religious symbol.
No, he was never considered a god, he was a Pharaoh, which is equivalent to a King.
Yes, the pharaoh was considered a god in ancient Egypt.
The pharaoh was considered to be the living version of the god Horus.
Rastafarians believe in Jah who is the same God that the Jews and Christians believe in but the difference comes in with your understanding of him. The way Rastas understand god is through the ways he reveals himself to us. Jah reveals himself to humanity through the Trinity. The Trinity is basically the three faces of god. These faces are God the father, God the savior and The spirit of God. God the Father is the God that is portrayed in the bible we call him almighty Jah. God the savior is the manifestations of Jah. This manifestations of Jah are the Messieurs that Jah has sent us. These would include Jesus Christ and His Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie 1. The spirit of Jah is the Holy Spirit that came down on the disciples of Jesus on Pentecost. Rastafarians also believe in Emperor Haile Selassie who was the Savior sent by Jah to free the black people from colonialism and Racism just the same as Jesus was sent to free the Jews. This is the corner stone of The Rastafarian Faith. Jah is an active God who sympathizes with his Children who struggle to live in Babylon.
because he was crowned king
Was haile salassie a god
Jesus Christ is the only Son of the one true God. Haile Selassie was just human. He was not the Messiah.
Haile Selassie, Emperor of Ethiopia.
The Lord Jesus Christ & Emperor Haile Selassie.
I do not know what is behind this question but I think it is good to take it at face value. Haile Selassie we an important leader and did many good things. The Bible is very clear that there are only two ways you can relate to Jesus. Either you are for him or against him. If Haile accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior then we will see Haile in heaven. If he rejected Jesus then Haile will not be in heaven. It is as simple as that. If Haile accepted Jesus then he is a child of God and the relationship is as a Father to Son or in the case his relationship with Jesus is a coheir.
An incarnation of God
Rasta doctrines concerning the Holy Trinity include stressing the significance of the name "Haile Selassie", meaning "Power of the Trinity" or "Might of the Trinity". The Bobo Shanti trinity, consists of Marcus Garvey as the Holy prophet, King Emmanuel VII as the Holy Priest and Haile Selassie as the Divine King. For the most part Rastas believe Haile Selassie to be both God the Father and God the Son, but God the Spirit lives within us.
They pray to God, Whom they believe Is Father, Son(Jesus), Haile Sellasie, & the Holy Spirit.
They call Him "Jah". They believe that Jah Is Father, Son (Jesus Christ) Haile Selassie, and the Holy Spirit.
Both believe that Christ Is the Incarnation Of God. Rastafarians believe that Emperor Haile Salassie was another incarnation of God too.
