WWI was about the struggle for european countries to reach a new balance of power after some became weakened. The assassination of archduke Franz Ferdinand is said to be the kicking point, but it was really the act of violence that turned all the tension into a real war.

WWII also started because the nations had been unable to reach a stable balance after WWI. At the beginning of WWII, Hilter's Germany began taking land and expanding it's borders.
