One notable failed federal program aimed at African Americans was the "Reconstruction Finance Corporation's" efforts in the 1930s to provide loans for Black-owned businesses and housing development. While it aimed to alleviate economic disparities, the program faced significant challenges, including systemic racism and local opposition, which limited its effectiveness. Additionally, funding was often insufficient, and many loans went to white applicants, undermining the program's goals. Ultimately, it failed to achieve meaningful economic empowerment for the African American community.

Malcolm X emphasized the need for African Americans to demand their rights and assert their dignity rather than relying on the goodwill of politicians.
