the church of england was formed by king VIII, as he was turned down a divorce from one of his eight wives by the pope, he then formed his own chuch (anglicanism) in 1534. not much changed for worshipping catholics during this time, the only exception was they're loyalty to rome.

The Terrorist called Guy Fawkes was born. He's the man who planned the gun powder plot of 1605. Every year the United Kingdom celebrate his death on November the fifth with fireworks and throwing a dummy of him on a bonfire.

As far as I can tell, not much of importance. EdwardIII was king, there was probably all the intrigue going on what with him trying to remain king of England, and still trying to be king of France at the same time, having the usuak hassles with Scotland and Ireland and all. But no major events in any of that.

One thing that might have happened is that Geoffrey Chaucer might have been born, nobody knows for sure when he was born, but 1343 is the most accepted year. Of course there were no wild celebrations in the streets, he was just another kid born into a family of fairly well off vintners and victualers; they sold wine and food. No one suspected that he'd grow up and invent English Literature, that is literature written in the actual language the people spoke in their day to day lives at the time. B4 him "literature" in most places had to be in Latin.
