in the 1700s people didnt have a lot of options some times they would die over the most siple things that now a days we can get better from by just taking an asprin. in the 1700 there was no hospital a doctor would come to youre home and treak you but only if you had enough money to pay them and some of their methods were compleatly rediculous. in other casess people would just go to see a priest and have the priest pray for them and if they were very sick they would even get an exorsisn
