Because of people constantly moving into the cities they had lack of space. Also because of horses and oxen being used everywhere tons of dung was just left in the streets every year causing sanitation problems and air pollution. It also didn't help that the towns people threw their waste into the streets along with the animal dung all ready there. To sum it up, air pollution, lack of space, and sanitation issues were the problems they mainly faced.
