We really cannot know the answer to this. There were many bishops, and for most of them we only have information on the dates they were consecrated and the dates they died.

Of the first ten Archbishops of Canterbury, we have only one whose birth was estimated, and it was given as "probably the first third of the sixth century." The death of one archbishop was given as between 627 and 631.

Of the first ten Archbishops of Canterbury after the Norman conquest, we have no guesses on the birth years of two, three have known birth years, and the other seven are estimated. Of the eight whose birth years are known or estimated, the average age at death is 67, but one of these, Thomas Becket, was murdered at age 52. Not including him, the age was 69. The average age of consecration for these eight men was 56.
