Everything. After Poland was invaded by Hitler in 1939, it was the beginning of WWII. Then USSR pushed German out in 1945, and stayed for more than 50 years.
Germany started the whole mess. Second answer. Germany invaded Poland in September 1939 and kicked Polish people out of their own nation, then escorted German people into Poland. Jews were taken to concentration camps. They intended to go after Czechoslovakia next. They went after France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark and other places in April and May of 1940.
Poland has been invaded many many times, but I'm assuming you mean the WWII invasion. For Germany, it was just the next logical step of their European expansion plan. They'd actually already invaded and taken control of the Czech territory before they moved into Poland. For Russia, it was a good oppourtunity to cooperate with Germany and settle what would supposively become the new Russian-German border.

No, not really. In the immediate short term, Germany did acquire the western half of Poland. This was a beginning on Hitler's grand plan to grab territory to the east for "living room" in which Germany could expand. But in the long term invading Poland started WWII in Europe, as France and Britain declared war on Germany for invading Poland. Germany was able to defeat France, but never the British, and just under six years later Germany was in ruins, millions dead, the country divided for the next forty-five years and occupied by its enemies. And all those disastrous results flowed from the beginning, when Hitler invaded Poland.
they were scared and worried that Britain was going to get invaded next.

Poland lies in the middle Europe, next to Germany and the Baltic Sea.
The trigger point was the German invasion of Poland. England had signed a pact along with other countries to protect its longtime ally Poland from another invasion by Germany or any other country after The Great War (World War I), so that Poland could concentrate on rebuilding its civilian infrastructure.
