It really depends on what you define the first Personal Computer, but the general consensus is more or less the Commodore PET which came out in 1977
The Commodore PET had a MOS Technology 6502 procosser running at 1 MHz with 4 or 8 KB of memory. (wow.. that's so minuscule by todays standards !)
Immediately on the heels of Commodore, Tandy released the COCO (TRS-80), and Apple released the Apple I
Most consider the IBM to be in this category as well, however IBM didn't come out with the Model 5150 until 81'... sheesh ...those were the days !
