Germans had many beliefs. They had a strong sense of Nationalism, that only intensified after the Treaty of Versailles. They wanted revenge. Also the Germans believed firmly that they were the superior race and other races were insignificant. When the war went on, Hitler was able to convince the Germans that the reason for their hardships could be blamed upon the Jews. No one really knows why the Jews were targeted, but some think it was because most Jews were quite wealthy at the time.
