He did many things, writing was probably his most important. Paine wrote The Case of The Officers of Excise, Common Sense, Rights of Man and many more. He served as a secretary, held interests in science, worked on an iron bridge and smokeless candle, sailed, was an excise officer, was in the Continental Army, and helped write a new constitution for France.
