It all depended on who lived in the house, rich, or the poor.
They were very nice and had alot of character.
Poor people, had little houses like cottages, and rich people had houses made of brick, and were very big!

In Victorian society, rich and poor could find themselves living very close together, sometimes just streets apart. During the 19th century more people moved into the towns and cities to find work in factories. Cities filled to overflowing and London was particularly bad. Go to a place that has a lot of victorian homes and see what the houses actually look like form the outside. You could also research the era in which these houses were built and why they were built the certain way.
A majority of the houses in England had a Victorian Style Appearance or just a plain brick house with a chimney.
