Celebrations for religious events were common. Singing was common at such celebrations, and that included both in and out of church. Processions and parades were also common for religious celebrations. Theatrical plays portraying biblical stories were also common.

Secular celebrations included feasts for all sorts of reasons. Dancing, singing, and conducting sporting events of all sorts were done. Many modern people think of jousting as the main sporting event of the Middle Ages, but it was probably much less commonly done than playing football.
