EDIT:
In Salem, the trials were caused by pure hysteria and panic and were legal precedings. The Holocaust was genocide and completely illegal everywhere but Nazi Germany.
I always have to make this point when comparing the two: During the Holocaust, people were killed for what they were and at Salem, that was in no way the case.
Both are great examples of innocent people being scapegoated for things they were not responsible for. Both are also examples of societies allowing certain atrocities to occur without being checked or stopped by anyone for a certain period of time.
EASY, trying to remove a group of people due to fear of that groups power.
they both killed falsely accused people
To be correct, the question should be "how is the Crucible similar to the Salem Witch Trials"
The Crucible is a play by Arthur Miller which used the general events of the Salem trials to cast light on the McCarthyist activities in the Senate. I say general because the only aspects of the trials Miller leaves in tact are the names of the people he uses as characters (and that isn't even in every case) and those characters roles in the trials. (again, that isn't always true).
