What were the problems faced by the American society during World War 2?

• Men left for the war. Women had to cope with the family. Some women had to run the farm or family business.
• Financial difficulties for the families who lost income when their men joined the military for a lot less pay.
• Loneliness, fear, upset children, depression
• The families and single people had to cooperate with the food and goods rationing. They had to give up driving. Babies were given more milk and formula than older children.
• They had to make do or do without. With clothing they had mend it, buy used, trade, hand down to younger kids, or make it with fabrics they had or could get on rationing coupons. Coats and shoes were in the same situation.
• Many families had to relocate so they could work in war plants.
• Many people lost loved ones in the war.
