The Holocaust of World War 2 was the genocide of the Jews from many countries. The Nazis killed 6 million Jews over the span of 6 years or more. They were still killing them up to the last day of the war. Many Jews died, after the war was over, from disease, starvation, dehydration and exposure in the diesease ridden concentration camps. There were hundreds of the concentration and extermination camps where the Nazis imprisoned and killed Jews of all ages. They also conducted atrocious medical experiments on the Jews and other people who were disabled, suffered from dwarfism or were mentally disabled. Every Jew was marked with a numerical tattoo for the German records. The survivors have lived over 5 decades with that tattooed number on their arm. They can never escape the nightmare.

Out of millions of Jews who were in the camps or hiding in covert places it is tallied that 196,000 survived (estimated). Approximately 140,000 Jews emigrated from Europe to the United States after the war. The Nazi criminals were tried for their atrocities at the Nuremberg Trials. Some were killed and some given long prison sentences. It is crucial that people world wide never forget the Holocaust victims or the evil of the Nazis.
