Hard and short
Peasant is a French word. It means farmer. After 1066 it came to be the word for people who farmed. Which was most of Feudal England
The medival life was a life where it depned on what your job was. For exmaple if you were a lord your life would be great. You would be rich, comfortable, and have lots of food. But if you were a peasant your life was tough. You were poor, uncofebmable, and you could never be rich. If you were a peasant your kids would be peasants and your grandkids would be peasants.
In 1788 there were no peasants since it is 200 years after the middle ages. __ There were peasants in Europe after the Middle Ages. LOTS of peasants. Russia had a large peasant population up to the Revolution. As did virtually every country in Europe. China also had a large peasant population. The Middle Ages had NOTHING to do with the end of peasant life. Peasant life would have been hard. Difficult work, no education and little opportunity to leave the land. It would not have been very different than the life of a peasant during the Medieval period.
A person who is a peasant is a person who lives rural life (Country Life) as a farmer.
great
A peasant would probably try to commit suicide that is if he hadn't already straved to death, times in 1066 were harsh... Unless you were in William of Normandy's Feudal system, were dispite being at the bottom you were given land! ...Just not enough to be powerful but enough to live a life that is if you could grow crops to sell and make enough money to pay Williams T.A.X'S OR your're dead... LITERALY!

In the 1800's the feudal peasant no longer existed.
Because he thinks he can handle farm working. Or that he cando labor work. He cant imagine him not paying his taxes not on time and living like a peasant.
He was sometimes called "Peasant Breughel" because his paintings are often about peasant life, and because he liked dressing up like one and attending peasant weddings.
