She proved a very attentive nurse and a wonderful mother to Henry's three children. To learn more about Catherine Parr, Henry VIII, or Thomas Seymour go to TudorHistory.org.
After the death of Henry VIII on 28 January 1547, Katherine Parr (his sixth wife), married Thomas Seymour, one of Jane Seymour's brothers, that same year. The exact date is not known, but a letter from Thomas Seymour dated 17 May refers to himself as her husband. The marriage turned out to be difficult for Katherine at times, as Seymour had an unhealthy interest in the teenaged Princess Elizabeth (later Elizabeth I). Katherine became pregnant and gave birth to a girl on 30 August 1548, but died a few days later on 5th September, after contracting puerperal fever.
