The colony established by the Pilgrims was called Plymouth Colony, and they arrived in America in 1620. They landed at Plymouth Rock in present-day Massachusetts after their journey aboard the Mayflower. This settlement became one of the earliest successful English colonies in North America.

Pilgrims celebrated thanksgiving because they wanted to celebrate the accomplishment of their colony and how they survived throughout the harsh year with the help of the Indians.
The ship that brought 35 new settlers to the Plymouth Colony in November of 1621 was called the "Fortune." This vessel arrived about a year after the Mayflower, which initially brought the first group of Pilgrims to America. The Fortune's arrival helped to bolster the colony's population and resources as they continued to establish their settlement.

The pilgrims first settled in Plymouth. They were supposed to land in Virginia ,but there ship was blown off course by a storm so they settled in Plymouth which is in present-day state Massachusetts.
