From my knowledge after watching the news..The crash happened on January15th. Within 3 minutes after taking off from LaGuardia airport the plane's engines stopped running due to the fact that birds got in there somehow. The pilot could not turn around and go back because of the populated buildings around,and as well as being too low. So he told everyone on board to "brace for landing".. and fortunately while keeping the plane's nose up and hitting the water everyone was rescued within a matter of a few minutes.
