November 7, 2009 Double Tree on Arden Way
The Marine Corps Ball is the celebration of the Marine Corps Birthday. Though the actual Birthday date is November 5th, different units celebrate the Ball on different days through out the month of November. The Ball traditionally starts with a Cocktail Hour, followed by a ceremony of traditional toasting speeches and followed up by a guest speaker. After the ceremony, dinner is served and the bar is reopened. Along with music being played for people to dance, there is usually a photographer present as well. It is a once in a life time occasion. Never turn down an invitation to a Marine Corps Ball.
I was told that it is November 3rd 2011
Typically the ball lasts for about 3-4 hours. The first part is the ceremony, which is dictated by Marine Corps Order, and follows a set procedure. After the ceremony is dinner and general frivolity, lasting until the last people leave... usually to an after party.
november 12th 2009 The ball is November 1st Neither of the above answers are totally correct. Marine Corps balls run from late October through November. It is impossible for there to be just one as Lejeune as ten's of thousands of Marines. Sometimes they are done at unit level, Battilion level, regiment level, and division level. Then sometimes they are split between Non- NCO'S, NCO's, SNCO'S, and Officers. So the answer is there is no answer except Oct-Nov. You will need to contact each unit and inquire when theirs is. WWW.MCCSLEJUNE.COM sometimes has a list on their website as well but it only normally lists the big ones.
The marine corp ball is basically a dance provided to the marines and their spouses or girl friends (possibly boy friends to)
