During the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876, the Lakota primarily used traditional weapons such as rifles, including the Winchester repeating rifle and the Springfield Model 1873, as well as bows and arrows. They also employed tactics that leveraged their knowledge of the terrain and their mobility as horse-mounted warriors. The combination of these weapons and strategies contributed to their decisive victory over General Custer's forces.

The Battle of Little Bighorn, also known as Custer's Last Stand, was a conflict where the Lakota Sioux and Cheyenne tribes defeated the US Army. The Battle of Little Bighorn involved a more organized Native American resistance, while Wounded Knee was a tragic example of excessive force by the US military.
