Baton Rouge became the capital of Lousiana in 1849. The capital then moved to Shreveport during the US Civil War, but then Baton Rouge became the capital again in 1880.

New Orleans has not capitol, it is a city. It is also the Parish Seat for Orleans Parish.

Yes, but once New Orleans started getting attacked in the Civil War they changed it to Shreveport then back down to Baton Rouge.
