The Sopwith Camel....if you believe the Royal Flying Corps. Official credit went to a Canadian pilot, Capt Roy Brown in his Camel.
This question is hottly debated as to was it Brown or a Sgt in the Austrialian Army firing his vickers 30 cal machine gun, same gun used on the Camel.
Richtofen was flying low enough to land his all red Fokker Triplane, a plane that must be flown 100% of the time. The fatal wound Richtofen received killed him within a minute. Giving him enough to land somewhat controled and die shortly afterward in the cockpit as Austrialan soldiers came up to the plane on 4/21/1918.
No, Billy Bishop fought with the Red Baron but did not shoot him down. The Red Baron was shot down later, probably by Australian anti-aircraft gunners on the ground but possibly by RAF pilot Roy Brown, a Canadian, who was attacking the Red Baron.
Captain A. Roy Brown shot down the Red Baron on Sunday, April 21, 1918.
it is not fully known whos planes he shot down but in total he shot down 90 + planes.
No one. Von Richthofen was the top fighter pilot of WW1.
it is belived to be Roy Brown (a Canadian pilot) but has been proved wrong. we don't know for sure who shot him but it was one of the three Austrailian gunmen on the ground, know one knows for sure which one

Do you mean Australian? Some say an Australian fired from the ground and hit the REd Baron as he was chasing an airplane. Capt. Roy Brown was credited with shooting down the Red Baron and he was Canadian.
He was shot down by a bullet in his heart, apparently fired by a rifle on the ground.
He was a WWI German pilot who shot down over 70 planes in WW1.

A pilot was NOT the one who shot him down. He shot by ground fire. The fatal shots came from Australian soldiers of the 4th Machine Gun Battalion. Actually the shooter was Captin Roy Brown he made a huge dive towards the Red Baron and fired 2 deadly shots. From the angle it was rather possible that one of the shots struck the red baron, killing him, but the plane was perfectally fine.

He broke away from his jasta (squadron) to chase down a pone pilot over enimy lines, and ground troops shot him down
