The serfs during the middle ages rarely practiced their religion anywhere. The churches were effectively for the rich (aristocracy and land-owners), and any lessons on the teachings of the church was provided by monks who would go out and lecture the villagers. The limits of their practices (as best as can be garnered from papers on the subjects) were limited to baptism, the occasional lecture of by a monk or priest and perhaps some form of daily prayer.

They would gather for official holidays, but here the practices and who was allowed to attend varies greatly from area to area.
