So after doing some research I found that this name's origin is Gaelic. It also has ties to Scotland because my last name is "Kinney" and my grandfather's ancestors are from Scotland. Also I have found a credible website saying so. Also I am a prebiterian which is the Scottish branch of Christianity. It means seeing, or knowing, and it is apparently a clan. It comes from the original form McKinney, and was butchered when the original family came in through Ellis Island. There are lots of Kinneys currently living in New York and New Jersey.

im just improving the answer-
