The Sac and Fox tribes, also known as the Sac and Fox Nation, originated in the Great Lakes region of North America, particularly in present-day Wisconsin and Illinois. They were originally part of the Algonquian-speaking peoples. Over time, due to various pressures, including European colonization and westward expansion, they migrated to areas such as Iowa and Oklahoma. Today, the Sac and Fox Nation is primarily based in Oklahoma.
