From my belief, which is perfectly logical, the world will end with God 'rapturing' (taking up to himself) all believers and followers of him. The world began for a purpose, so why not it end with one?

For those of us who are not Christian, the world will end in approximately 5 billion years. The sun, having run out of hydrogen gas to fuel its nuclear fusion, will lose its hold on its outer gaseous layers. These superheated gasses will expand outward and either engulf the earth, completely destroying it, or settle past Venus, making the earth molten once more. After this red giant phase, the sun will become a luminous ball of superheated iron known as a white dwarf, which would be incapable of sustaining life on earth.

Good answer but that is not the answer a few people are looking for what will happen

is these enormous clouds will roll in and when that happens we will never see blue sky ever again. The clouds will stay there for years. The clouds will keep anything for growing ever again and we will starve to death. (this is very likely to happen after

the rapture of Jesus Christ.
