The Rowan Dairy I knew and remembered was in Salisbury, NC. It was an ice cream parlour with stools for patrons to sit, with counters in front to display all the flavours of ice cream. There was a huge room to the side for mainly the use of birthday parties. My brother worked there during his high school years and it was a weekly fun trip for our family to go for ice cream there. I think it must've closed down in the early eighties. It was sad to go "back home" this fall for a visit and see that it had been torn down. Lots of memories from that place. The actual cow dairy that produced the milk was (I think) in western Rowan County. I am not positive of that - just guessing, because most of western Rowan was agriculture.
