The USS Mount McKinley (AGC-7/LCC-7) was a WW2 Amphibious Command ship. She was noted for her ability to withstand multiple kamikaze attacks, and was mothballed for some time after the war. She was struck from the Naval Register in 1976 and sold for scrap in 1979. There is no record of any other previously named or currently commissioned Naval warship, supply or merchant vessel named the Mount McKinley. A link can be found below.

No specific ship was MacArthur's. The USS Nashville (CL-43) was his Flagship for his return to the Phillipenes. PT-41 from Motor Torpedo Squadron Three was what he used to make his escape. He was also associated withe the USS Missouri (BB-63) for the Japanese surrender and the USS Mount McKinley (AGC-7) during the Inchon landings.

The USS Independence completed her maiden voyage on the 2nd of May, 2012. She was then docked at her home port in San Diego. She is a littoral combat ship.
