During World War I, the Triple Alliance consisted of three major European nations: Great Britain, France, and Imperial Russia. Numerous other nations, small and large, were also associated with this alliance; however, in 1917, it was Imperial Russia that withdrew from the alliance and then, in early 1918, from all military involvement entirely.
