It is a concern for America because many Mexican immigrants often try to enter the country illegally; also many gangs in the southern states try to smuggle drugs and such illegal immigrants into US territory. For Mexico, it is a problem because Mexican gangs smuggle weapons, which worsens the already precarious climate of violence in Mexico's northern states.
