There are examples in both end of the extreme : Some Jews reportedly experienced that their flats and houses had been looked after (and even cleaned by women auxiliary), whereas other returned to find their business taken over by others. I'm certainly no expert, but have read a debate by where historians disagreed about what was typical, so apparently the subject is poorly or inconclusively researched.

The Federalist's (now known as Democrats) believe in a strong 'central government', a government that holds the power and rights to give down to the people, as well as were for the 'central bank'. The Anti-Federalist's (now known as Republicans) believe in a rights to the states, a government that the power comes from the people through the states to the federal government, and were against a 'central bank'. There were many times that one party held both the legislative and executive branches most recently where the Obama Administration 2008-2010, Bush administration 2004-2006

Aaron Burr thought the wealthy and succesfull should run the country. Thomas Jefferson disagreed. He thought that those who worked the land (the farmers) should run the country.

The election of Congress and the President of the United States were clear examples. How these two systems and parties interacted with each other is another example of partisan politics.
