There is a Cherokee reservation in the Smoky Mountains of western North Carolina. Not many stayed there. Some went to Arkansas and Oklahoma.

In general, no. Most white settlers were indifferent and, in some cases, hostile to the Indians who were going west. There were a few who offered assistance along the way, though.
