Gurjar is a pure Sanskrit word which means "One, who vanish the enemy"

ln Sanskrit if a dot is put on an alphabet, it is spoken in nostrils ; such as ma(n)=mother and ha(n)=yes etc. There is a dot on mid 'r' i.e the word is Guran+Jar

Guran=Enemy

Jar=Vanishing

Why named as Namasudra if Sudra means slave or servant?

Namasudra or Nama or Namo ( recently acclaimed as Namaswej or Namassej) is the name of a community who were named as Chandala or Candala which the hatred campaigners liked to pronounce as Charala in rural Banga.After the British took hold of this Indian continent as their Colony or Empire this community got their name changed as Namasudra. Apparently this is not bad as the Bengali Brahmins at that time told that except themselves all are Sudra(s). And since this community was out-caste so it is a great uplift in their name.But now it seems obvious that these people might have been ostracized during Sen dynasty for their defying nature.It is a fact ,the namasudras demand , that they understood that the implications are no less worse than the connotations of the word Candala. They proposed their identity from mythological origin theory as Namaswej Or Namassej Or Namassut ( following their founder gotra Or clan from Kasyapa).At that Time when The Whole Indian Continent is under British control and the elites have been converted to the Serving People of the Rulers or Monarchy which is nothing but Sudra(s) ( public servant) or neo-sudras in India , It looks very astonishing that the Bengalis who never misses the opportunity to demand themselves as progressiveWhy at that time Did insisted a Community to be named as "Sudra" when every-one was avoiding that.And not even that only , thence-from Naming people of New professions as new Castes also stopped. It shows the Hypocrisy of the Self Acclaimed Progressive Bengalis who Actually In their Heart were Die-Hard Conservative Hindus at that Time.Actually Caste system Destroys The mythological Or Divine identity of Human beings.Since these people were outcast populations they could have been spared like The Rajbanshis or The Gurjars etc. I personally think yet now it is possible to accept their proposed name as Namaswej or Namassej .In a democratic Country Every person is serving His Fellow Peoples so No One should be Named as " Sudra " which invokes a Hatred .APPEAL :Without knowing everything don't try to use a forum for a bashing of a particular linguistic community.The Namasudras are well accepted in Bengali society . Dr. N.R.Ray ,a brahmin by caste supported the story of their Ostrcization. It is doubtful whether an alternative name was proposed. Definitely "Sudr" signifies a degraded status if Candala means Defying Social Prejudices. But Emotional connotation of Candala is more Abusing among the common people. The community has not demanded any Change of Their Name to Namaswej Or Namassej or to anything else. The myth of their Origin from Kasyap clan as they Demand has been published in Famous Bengali Magazine like " Anustup" and many others .Please see Namasudra in wikipedia for further references.What is Necessary is To Be Capable Of Accepting " Others ".Actually the truth is that they were Socially Known as Namasudras from the Time of The Sen King when they were ostracized .Later In course of time The King Further Haunted them to the swamps of South -Banga and being declared out-caste by The King they Became known as Chandal Or Candala > Charala .And then again During British Regime they were documented as Nmasudra ( back again ) which was most Strongly opposed By Historian N.K.Basu but Dr. N.R.Ray supported It .History , Myths and several other findings supported Dr.N.R.ray's Interpretation of History of Bengali People ( which includes the modern genome research also).

What are the Gurjarrs caste in Rajasthan fighting for?

The Gurjarrs, also known as Gurjars, in Rajasthan have been fighting for the recognition of their community as a Scheduled Tribe (ST) to secure better access to government jobs, education, and social welfare benefits. This demand has been rooted in their desire for affirmative action to uplift their socio-economic status. The Gurjarrs have organized protests and political movements to advocate for their rights and address historical grievances related to caste discrimination. Their struggle reflects broader issues of caste dynamics and social justice in India.

Is it true that the surname Patel contains members of all the four varnas ie Brahmin Kshtriya Vaishya and Shudra?

Yes,It is very correct to affirm that the surname Patel has been phenomenally carried by various castes across various regions of India....These castes may be either Brahmins,Kshtriyas, Vaishyas or Shudras...If u discuss the total number of Patels in the state of Gujarat( better call it the state of Patels),u will be amazed to note that besides the main Patels( or Patidars),several other caste groups of Gujarat viz. the Brahmins,Jats and Gurjars ( so-called Kshtriyas), Vaishyas ( may be Gupta, Agarwal or Marwaris) sometimes carry this great surname in and outside Gujarat....In Gujarat itself,some shudra castes adopted this surname to raise their standards in some pseudo way.....Outside Gujarat,u may find Patils using the surname Patel in Maharastra along with other 96 kuli Marathas, Khandayats and Aghrias doing the same in Orissa,Gurjars and Jats doing the same in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh respectively,Some Kapu Reddys honouring themselves with the surname Patel and Some Lodhis and Kurmis also are found with the same surname in the northern India....The Lingayats of Karnataka,and Jats of Haryana also sometimes use this second largest surname of India....

Which is higher subcaste of rajput tanwar rajput or raghav rajput?

Both are equal . Raghav and Tanwar both share blood relation being Rajputs. Kindly don't ask such patriarchial or controversial questions . Promote Brotherhood rather than spreading hatred in terms of who is bigger or smaller. Raghav are Sooryavanshi Rajputs . Tanwar or Tomar are Puruvanshi Rajputs. It should also be kept in mind that Tanwar or Tomar surname is also commonly found among Jaats and Gurjars . So a person writing Tanwar or Tomar surname doesn't necessarily means he is a Rajput. Though this is not the case with Raghav Rajputs. Their population is relatively low as compared to Tomars. And their surname is generally not found in any other caste. JAI HIND.

Are rajput chandel equal to jaats parmar as both are khatriyas?

DON't Know about 'Jaat parmara' as Jaat can'T be parmars at all...Jaat started using parmar surname during medival time,jaat used to take care of Animals of Hindu Rajput Raja..... All Rajput either that chandela or chauhan or anyone always higher than Jaat and Gurjars as Jaat and Gurjers arose during medival time, they used to work under Rajput kings ,since the time whoever they were working under ..they started using their surnames as their own... If u talk about Rajput .......Rajput Parmar is higher than chandela as Parmar has long and authentic history than chandela Rajputs.... chandela rajputs also ranks Good and it is also a very good n respected Rajput clan but Parmar Is higher than chandela..

What caste are Patel from?

Patels belong to the Upper caste Landlords of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Next after the Brahmins....they are actually the most dominant upper caste in Gujarat. That is the reason why other castes of Gujarat like Jats,Gurjars,Brahmins,Rajputs(Darbar),Lohana sometimes adopt this surname to mingle with the real upper caste Patels. In caste if a Patel is O.B.C or S.C, he is certainly not a real Patel but is misusing the Upper Caste status of The Patels.

Pastoralists of modern India?

pastoralists in India are as follows; 1. Even today the Gujjar Bakarwals of Jammu and Kashmir are great herders of goat and sheep. Many of them migrated to this region in the nineteenth century in search of pastures for their animals. Gradually, over the decades, they established themselves in the area, and moved annually between their summer and winter grazing grounds. In winter, when the high mountains were covered with snow, they lived with their herds in the low hills of the Siwalik range. The dry scrub forests here provided pasture for their herds. By the end of April they began their northern march for their summer grazing grounds. Several households came together for this journey, forming what is known as a kafila. They crossed the Pir Panjal passes and entered the valley of Kashmir. With the onset of summer, the snow melted and the mountainsides were lush green. The variety of grasses that sprouted provided rich nutritious forage for the animal herds. By end September the Bakarwals were on the move again, this time on their downward journey, back to their winter base. When the high mountains were covered with snow, the herds were grazed in the low hills. In a different area of the mountains, the Gaddi shepherds of Himachal Pradesh had a similar cycle of seasonal movement. They too spent their winter in the low hills of Siwalik range, grazing their flocks in scrub forests. By April they moved north and spent the summer in Lahul and Spiti. When the snow melted and the high passes were clear, many of them moved on to higher mountain

Is badgujar community is rajput community?

The Badgurjar or Raghav is one of the most ancient Suryvanshi Rajput tribes of India. They are among the most revered rajputs of ancient India. The Badgurjar, or the "Great Gurjars", are not to be confused with the common place shudra gujjars as the former are the authentic rulers and the people whom they conquered were labeled as gujjar. They constituted the main force in Haraval Tukdi or the first line of offence in any battle. The Badgujars chose to die rather than to submit to the supremacy of the Muslim kings. Many bargujars were put to death for not giving their daughters to Muslim rulers. Some Badgujars changed their clan name to Sikarwar to escape mass genocide carried out against them. A colony found refuge in present day Anupshahar, which was founded by Raja Anup Singh Bargujar, the eldest son of Raja Pratap Singh Bardbujjar. They built numerous monuments, including the famous Nilkanth temple now in the Sariska Tiger Reserve; the fort and Neelkanth Mahadev Temple at Kalinjar being Shiva Worshipers; the Amber Fort, many other palaces and forts at Alwar, Machari, Sawai Madhopur; and the fort of Dausa. Neelkanth was the old capital of the Bargujar tribe, its old name is Rajor or Rajor Garh. One of their famous kings was Raja Pratap Singh Bargujar, who was Prithviraj Chauhan's nephew and assisted in his fight against the Muslim invaders, who were led by Muhammad of Ghor in 1191. They also fought on the side of Rana Pratap) of Mewar and Maharana Hammir as their generals. One of them, Raja Nune Shah Bardbujjar of the Samthar state, fought with the British and pushed back their forces many times but later signed a peace treaty with the British in 1817. The Badgurjars are not to be confused with the Hepthalites, or Huns, as they came only towards the 6th century. One branch of Bardbujjars, Raja Bagh Singh Bargujar was the founder of 'Rajor' their ancient capital in Vikrami Samvat 202 which corresponds to A.D.145, the difference being 57 years. The place was also referred to as 'Baghola'. He also built a lake near Sileser Lake in the same year and when it was dug up red water flowed from it, which was called Kanganoon.
