The wife of a king is a queen, so anyone who was married to a king would be a queen and if they lived in the middle ages, she would have been a medieval queen.

In addition, a very few women who were the daughters of kings or of claimants to a throne became queens in their own right. This was uncommon because the rules in most places only permitted males to rule a kingdom.
