Typically, it is the Marines. Marine Expeditionary Units (MEU) are aboard naval ships throughout the world always on standby should they be needed at a moments notice.
There is no "first" in as many would have you believe. It depends on the mission and need. I would say Special Operation forces are probably the first in anywhere, be it Navy Seals or Green Berets. As for the whole MEU statement a ship cannot travel faster than a plane and Airborne units can deploy pretty much anywhere in the world faster than any ship bound forces.
the army goes rolling along
You would have to be more specific as to what Roman policies you mean. The Romans had policies for taxation, class, trade, marriage, the army---the list goes on.You would have to be more specific as to what Roman policies you mean. Greece will go first and last. Greece will come in first and last - the flag will be carried into the stadium first, and the team will come meanie bobini
If you are on land, the curch flag flies under the US flag, so the US flag goes up first. If you are in the US Navy and on a ship, then the Church pennant goes above the National Ensign and thus goes up first.
well it depends on if you want to be worked harder..if you join the Marines they have a very tough boot camp that will stretch you to your limits..the Army does still have a hard boot camp but they are not a rigorous as the Marines
The Calvery is a United States Army unit. It goes into combat by helicopter. A movie with the Calvery init is "WE WERE SOLDIERS."
first to fight for the right and the army goes marching along
Yes the US army is better. Any marine well tell you other wise but that is because they are brainwashed. The 82nd airborne in the US army are the first to fight. They are paratroopers. The army's snipers are better then the marine snipers. This is proved by the fact that the army beats them every Year in top sniper. Some people well say well that's not combat that is just targets but this is not the only proof that they are better. For more info on that just simple research snipers. The us army offers more then 150 jobs therefore it is also better. The marines are nothing but the navy's infantry don't listen to anyone who tells you otherwise. My dad is a 13 year captain in the u.s army and i will be enlisting in a year. This also gives me the opportunity to know more. Lastly i have a Friend who is trying to switch from the marines to the army because he does not thin they are good at all. I don't care what anyone said about marines being first to fight all the marines do is brand there name into your head. Here is an example think about this. Your average person said can i have a Kleenex's. But i believe Kleenex is a brand not a tissue this is called branding. When your average person goes to a restaurant they ask for coke but maybe its Pepsi this is branding. Its called the marines brainwashing our country. I watch the news and see US army soldiers walking through Iraq but they call them marines this is branding!!!!!!!!! So believe what you want but you are wrong if you think the marines are better in any aspect. GO ARMY HOOOOAAHHH!!!!!!The Marines are better than the Army, because the Corps have armed helicopters, (the Cobra), and armed fixed wing aircraft (the Hornet and the Harrier). The Army only has armed helicopters (the Apache). If the Apache isn't good enough to provide air support for the Army, they the Army has to beg the Air Force to pretty please send in the A-10 Warthog, which the Air Force plans to send to scrap heap in Tucson, Arizona and replace with the F-35 Lighting II as soon as possible.

Army Pants and a Army Shirt
If it's a shore based enemy...the Marines are sent in. If it's a 100% land battle far from the ocean...then it's the army's jurisdiction. Un-officially...the Marines have had a tougher duty by the very nature of securing hostile beach-heads. Consequently, their training (used to be) legendary for toughness. Translation: US Marines "used" to be the equivalent of "shock troops" in the US military...the toughest US fighting men alive.
If a man enjoys physical training and marching (hiking, out-doors activities), rifles and other small arms, and armored vehicles (AMTRACKs-Amphibious Tractors, tanks, etc.) then the Marines are for him. If a man enjoys computers, a bed to sleep in, a cafeteria to eat in, and a decent paying job that enables him to retire for the rest of his life...(20 years of service; NO OTHER JOB IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA offers that kind of retirement! This goes for the Marines, Army, Navy, and Coast Guard also.), then the Air Force (or Navy) is for him. The Army & Marines are geared for outdoorsmen. It is inherent to fighting on the ground; sleeping on the ground, eating rations, fighting hand to hand (bayonent to bayonent), no place to conduct personal hygiene except in the bush or open hole somewhere behind a rock, etc. Army & Marines certainly do have hi-tech computer jobs...but as a whole, these two branches are geared for fighting in the dirt!
The Air Force and Navy will pound the area frst and then the Marines and Army will go in after area is bombarded. Assuming you mean the US army, it is generally the marines which are actually deployed first, they may not be the first to go into action though (e.g. see: Operation Desert Shield / Desert Storm)
