Emperor Hirohito was a calm, gentle man who was humble and kind. He was not the violet person considered him to be. He was not in charge of the violent military Japanese soldiers and Naval personnel. He was more a pawn of them in reality. He was so isolated as a monarch of a country many Japanese had never even seen him or heard his voice.
