If you want to pick a medieval king, you might try Charlemagne or William the Conqueror.
There were lots of kings during the Middle Ages. We probably do not even have an accurate count of the number of kingdoms, but there were many of them. Add to that the fact that the Middle Ages lasted a thousand years, and you might have well over a thousand kings. Some kings are so obscure we do not even know their names.
