Pentheus/ Πενθεύς King of Thebes. He was the son of Echion and Agave who was the daughter of Cadmus founder of Thebes and goddess Harmonia.
It is difficult to say for sure whether Euripides believed in the Greek Gods or not. He lived in Athens through 406 b.c. and wrote many plays. His plays are about the affairs of the Gods, so Euripides most likely did believe in their existence. Alcestis features Apollo, Herakles, and Thanatos. In Trojan Women, Poseidon and Athene are main characters. And the Bacchae revolves around Dionysus' punishment of King Pentheus of Thebes and his mother for failing to worship him. With these examples, it's easy to assume that Euripides did, indeed, believe in the Greek Gods.
No one knows for sure. In 178 AD the Greek philosopher Celsus wrote in his anti-Christian book, "Logos Alethes" that evidence that Jesus was not god included the fact that Pilate "did not suffer the fate of Pentheus [for rejecting a god] by going mad or being torn to pieces." Origen, a Christian writer, responded to Celsus by saying that Pilate was not truly responsible for the death of Jesus. This suggests that there was no early tradition of execution or suicide in the second or third centuries. It is known that Pilate was ordered back to Rome around 36 AD to answer charges for alleged crimes he committed in Judea, but Tiberius died before Pilate reached Rome. The crimes Pilate was accused of included an unnecessary massacre of some Samarititanson Mount Gerizem. After serving ten years, and with the transition to a new emperor (Caligula) it is reasonable to assume he was simply discharged from service to the empire and went into retirement.
When Pentheus saw the Maenads, they were in a state of insane frenzy. They caught Pentheus spying on them and mistook him for a wild animal. Pentheus was torn to shreds.

Pentheus banned the worship of the god of wine, Dionysus. He also imprisoned Dionysus, but his chains fell off and the jail doors opened for him. Dionysus then lured Pentheus out to spy on the bacchic rites. The daughters of Cadmus saw him in a tree and thought him to be a wild animal. Pentheus was pulled down and torn limb from limb
The cast of The Death of Pentheus - 2009 includes: Claudia Coulter as Symposiast Sura Dohnke as Woman Kate Fleetwood as Ariadne Julian Glover as Cadmus Fabio Tassone as Douris William Tuckett as Dionysus
Actaeon, the hunter, was torn apart by his own hounds, after he had been turned into a deer for having seen chaste Artemis naked. Pentheus, the king of Thebes, was torn apart by maenads (female followers of Dionysus in a state of ecstatic frenzy) for having banned the worship of said deity in his city. In this act, the maenads were led by Pentheus' own mother, Agave. They are similar in that in both cases the men in question are pulled apart by those who were previously loyal to them, now oblivious to their true nature; Actaeon by his hounds ('man's best friend') who did not see past the metamorphosis, while the Maenads, among which were close relatives, pulled Pentheus apart with their bare hands thinking he was a lion, and again he was killed by those close to him.
His enemies are Hera, King Pentheus, Pirates, A.I.M, Avengers, Mikaboshi, the Titans, Typhon, and the Nation of India.
Magic was used when the gods made acoetes mother think that he was a boar and she needed to kill him
Yes. Theban King Creon and his sister Theban Queen Jocasta were the children of Menoeceus, who was the son of Pentheus. Theban King Pentheus was the son of Polydorus. Theban King Polydorus was the son of Phoenician Prince Cadmus, who was the founder of the city of Thebes. Cadmus was the son of King Agenor of Tyre and his wife Telephassa.
Dionysus dislikes Pentheus, Hera, and the Titans.
