He was also in office during the establishment of the United Nations, securing Britain a permanent seat on the Security Council, and also signed Britain into NATO- he also oversaw Britain's contribution to the Berlin Airlift of 1947.
In '51 he was voted out to be replaced by Churchill again, who was re-elected as a peacetime leader.
