His name is Ronald Ryan his was hanged in 'D' Division at Pentridge prison at 8am on Friday 3 of February 1967.
To this day, more than four decades later, serious doubts remain of whether Ryan was guilty beyond all reasonable doubt.
Despite a total lack of scientific ballistic forensic evidence to prove guilt, mysterious missing pieces of vital evidence that would have cleared Ryan, serious ambiguities in the case, dire widespread inconsistencies of all fourteen eyewitnesses' evidence for
the prosecution and a prison officer's testimony that he fired one single shot (heard by all persons) Ryan was found guilty of murder based solely on unrecorded unsigned allegations of verbals/confessions, said to have been made by Ryan to police.
Ryan only signed documents stating he would give no verbal or written statements and always denied ever making such verbals/confessions to anyone.
