The working class were also called the lower class. They were people like those who worked in the factories. There were about 15 million working class people. From 0-5 years old they would play in the streets. From 5-10, they would go to school (only after 1871). When they were 10-12 they would have a half day school, half day work. From 12 upwards they would have a full time job or an apprenticeship.

Poor people who had to work to survive and hardly made enough income to live. Worked for very little money and in not very good conditions.
